We\u2019d play classics like <em>Horses<\/em>, <em>Three\u2019s Away<\/em>, and <em>Ship, Captain, Crew<\/em> while rolling the \u201cdaily rolls\u201d at different establishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One Friday night at the VFW, while our regular bartender, Bill Reno, was working, I got the urge to design something new. My friend and I were tossing around silly theme ideas that mostly led to laughter, when Bill walked over and asked, \u201cWhat are you two doing\u2014playing basketball?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That was it. Basketball had 1-, 2-, and 3-point shots\u2014so why not make that into a dice game? Within minutes, the rules were taking shape. And that night, <em>Basketball<\/em> was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here it is, a free game from me to you. If you enjoy quick, clever dice games, I hope you\u2019ll give it a try. Cheers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Basketball <\/strong><strong>\ud83c\udfb2\ud83c\udfc0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong> 5 six-sided dice<br><strong>Objective:<\/strong> Score as many points as possible in three rolls or fewer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scoring<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dice showing <strong>1, 2, or 3<\/strong> = points.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 = 1 point<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 = 2 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 = 3 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dice showing <strong>4, 5, or 6<\/strong> = missed shots (0 points).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Play<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll all 5 dice at once.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must keep all <strong>2\u2019s and 3\u2019s<\/strong> (set them aside as scored points).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may keep or reroll <strong>1\u2019s<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always reroll any missed shots (<strong>4, 5, 6<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You get up to <strong>three rolls total<\/strong> to score the highest points you can.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Roll 1:<\/strong> You roll 1, 3, 3, 4, 6. You must keep the two 3\u2019s (6 points). You could keep the 1 (7 points), but instead you reroll the 1, 4, and 6.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roll 2:<\/strong> You roll 2, 5, 5. You must keep the 2 (8 points). You reroll the two 5\u2019s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roll 3:<\/strong> You roll 1, 6. You add the 1, ending with <strong>9 points<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everyone else now has three rolls to try and beat your score of 9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Roll 1:<\/strong> You roll 1, 3, 3, 4, 6.
